Little Black Girl From The Bay

Our Mission

Little Black Girl From The Bay Productions is a platform for storytelling that illuminates and cultivates conversations around womanhood, social justice, girlhood, and allyship through the mediums of film and television.

Our Commitment

We at Little Black Girl From The Bay Productions feel a responsibility to influence present and future generations through the art of film-making. We aim to add to the canon of familiar film genres with narratives that rebrand Black womanhood, thus de-tokenizing and expounding upon the concept of "Black Girl Magic," through cinematic storytelling. By supporting us, you will be promoting the works of artists reclaiming their own narratives.

Our Mentorship Initiative

“Lifting as we climb” - the words of Mary Mcleod Bethune, is the motto of our mentorship initiative. We are focused on creating a space for women, particularly women of color, to shine and share their artistry. We are passionate about creating opportunities for youth and young adults on set to learn the ins and outs of film-making.

We are proud to share that during the filming of Brief Exchanges 80% of our department heads were women. We were honored to have 2 students on set as interns who were able to work hand and hand with our diverse cast and crew.
